In Genoa, the Blue Economy continues to prove itself as a concrete engine for employment: over 300 people participated today in the Career Day dedicated to superyachts, transforming the Genova Blue District into a crossroads of professional opportunities and perspectives.
There was a high turnout for the fourth edition of the Career Day organized by Genova For Yachting, now a well-established event for those looking to the sea as their professional horizon. The event brought together institutions, businesses, and the world of education with a clear objective: to bridge the gap between supply and demand in the yachting sector and the Blue Economy.
Students, recent graduates, and professionals had the opportunity to engage directly with 22 companies from the sector, as well as prominent organizations such as Assagenti, Confindustria Nautica, and Spediporto. Space was also dedicated to education, with the presence of specialized entities like the University of Genoa, the Italian Merchant Marine Academy, and local technical institutes.
The participation of Genoese schools was also significant, with seven classes involved, confirming a growing interest among younger generations toward maritime professions.
"The Blue Economy represents a strategic asset for Liguria, not only from a historical perspective but also for employment," emphasized the Vice President of Liguria Region, Simona Ferro, highlighting how initiatives of this kind are part of a broader strategy for development and job placement.
Sharing this sentiment, the Councilor for Labor of the Municipality of Genoa, Emilio Robotti, remarked on the value of collaboration between institutions, businesses, and education to create concrete opportunities. This system finds a key tool in the "Blue Skills Village" to connect expertise and professional growth within a superyacht sector that is increasingly dynamic and oriented toward innovation and sustainability.
For Giovanni Costaguta, President of Genova For Yachting, the day is "proof of how much the sector still has ample room for growth," underlining the importance of creating direct meeting opportunities between companies and young people.
"Today is a significant day for Genova For Yachting because it demonstrates that the industry linked to the Blue Economy still has vast margins for expansion. It is fundamental to create the right context so that this development can continue in a structured way, and the foundations seem very solid.
